reileen: (waaah - Garet and Isaac)
Tuesdays and Thursdays can go DIAF. I know I keep on whining about it, and I know I don't have much of a choice so I just have to put up with it, but seriously - only having two classes (each two and a half hours long) on those days but still having to spend my entire day on campus is horrible. I have to be out of the house by 7:00am and I don't get home until 9:30pm. It's really lonely on the train ride home...

Randomly: If I do get to go teach English in Japan, I'mma have to get myself a more portable instrument than a keyboard and either bring it with me there or buy it in Japan, because I think I'm going to go crazy if I don't have the chance to play music to blow off steam. I mean, yeah, I clearly have other hobbies like drawing and writing and reading, but playing music is a lot more physical for me than those two, and so it has more of a therapeutic quality for me. Maybe I'll pick up guitar again and learn classical guitar or something.

Speaking of music, [livejournal.com profile] kiirobon managed to find me a copy of Kanon Wakeshima's Shinshoku Dolce, which gave me much glee the other night. Initial impressions: the album doesn't cohere well together for me, but I like the individual tracks. I don't yet have an album favorite besides the stuff from the singles, though. I also really like Wakeshima's voice - it's a lot more mature-sounding than Fairy Yui's (Yousei Teikoku), and she sounds like she can hold a tune independent of instrumental accompaniment better than Yui. If Yousei Teikoku's music is gothic Lolita, then Wakeshima's music is more sweet Lolita, though she has her dark moments ("still doll" and "Kuroi Torikago", notably).

Mrr. I have kanji homework due tomorrow, but I only have a little to do, so I think I'm going to leave it until tomorrow morning, since I'll have to be up then anyway to make sure my sister is ready for school. Might as well get as much sleep as I can. Thank Jesus for no classes this Friday.
