Commission Base Prices
Pencil illustration: $15
Marker/colored pencil illustration: $35-$40
CG illustration: $40-$45
If the prices seem a little high to you, keep in mind that they are subject to negotiation in both directions. Your final price will depend on a number of factors, including the complexity of the picture (having a proper background, multiple people in a picture, etc.) and whether you want a print of the picture shipped to you if you ordered a CG (if you order a pencil sketch or a traditional media piece, you will get the original, of course).
How to Get a Commission
E-mail the following information to reileen.van.kaile@gmail.com!
Name: Something I can refer to you by – doesn’t have to be your real name.
E-mail: Yeah, it should be obvious just by receiving the e-mail, but do it for the sake of officialness. ^_^
Your Request: What you want, the way you want it! Include the necessary reference pictures, links, and/or descriptions. Also specify if you want the original (if it’s a pencil piece or a traditional media piece) or a print (if it’s a CG).
Request Rules
-No pornographic requests. Non-negotiable. Mild romantic displays of any orientation may be doable.
-No hate propaganda or anything that promotes hatred of something.
-No asking me to do a style that is completely out of my league. When in doubt, bug me about it! If I temporarily change my style while doing your request, I’ll e-mail you with details about the change and ask for your input.
-No explicit or excessive gore. Well, okay, blood splatters all over the place are fine, but I don’t have the skills to draw something like decapitated heads or such.
-No asking me to copy an existing picture. That’s copyright infringement, and it’s boring copyright infringement.
Ze Process
1. I receive your request, and we negotiate a price. w00t.
2. I sketch the rough draft and show it to you. If you like it, I’ll ask you to pay part of the total price upfront. It can be any amount you like, although it should probably be at least $5. Once you figure out what you want to pay, I’ll send you a payment request from my PayPal account.
3. I go and do the final drawing. If I make any significant changes to the original sketch in the process, I’ll bug you through e-mail with the details and ask for your input.
4. I finish the final drawing! If you like it, I’ll ask you for the rest of your payment (again, through PayPal). Once that’s confirmed, if you’d asked for the print of the commission or the original, I’ll go through the necessary motions to get that mailed to you, and I’ll e-mail you when I do.
Payment
PayPal is preferred. But if that doesn’t suit your fancy, I’ll also take mailed checks, and I’ll let you know what address you need to send the check to through e-mail.
