I watched a commercial advertising medicine for diabetes recently and thought: "Gee, guys, all of your diabetics are either fat or on the larger side of the body scale - subtle much?"
I've known for a while that Japanese character profilers tend to make their characters (usually females, but males will suffer from this too) incredibly anorexic, but even then I'm still surprised every now and again. Take Tira from Soul Calibur III, for instance. She's taller than I am (5'3", while I'm 5'0") and yet she weighs less than I do (she's 94 pounds, while I'm usually around 98). That makes no sense whatsoever! She should at least be breaking one hundred pounds, especially given the fact that she's a trained fighter who probably mostly gets around by walking (since the Soul Calibur series is set in the late 16th century or early 17th century). Both of those factors combined should give her enough muscle mass that would put her maybe around 110 pounds, give or take. Ninety-four fucking pounds, my ass.
