While standing in line at McDonald's today waiting to get breakfast (two hash browns and an apple juice), there were two Obama volunteers standing in line, holding placards that had Obama pins for sale. I thought about buying one (one for $5, three for $10), but then it was my turn to order and I was running mildly late for class anyway. Maybe if I run across another Obama pinperson today, I'll buy one. For now, though, my Mario-Luigi '08 shirt will have to suffice.
Dammit, I wish I were still apathetic. :( Then I would've written in Mario and Luigi when I went to early vote.

Speaking of class, ANT120 lab today was brutal. We were assigned two bags of stuff to go through, but each bag had so much in it that by the time it was nearing the end of lab, we still had a ways to go on the first bag. Luckily, we did actually find a wide variety of stuff in the bag to talk about in our final presentation in two weeks, so we'll just have to do a bit of Googling and information compilation.
My final assignments/projects/exams/whatever for this quarter aren't actually this bad (which is helped by the fact that I only have three classes), but still, I'm sick of school now and I want to be out out out.

I've passed 6000 words on NaNo as of last night; been hitting the minimum wordcount and then some. I'm finding that drawing a tarot card prior to each writing session and incorporating its meaning into what I'm writing helps immensely. Yeah, I'm still flailing around rather hysterically trying to find something to write about, but having the tarot as a guide is the difference between, like, blindly swinging a golf club through empty air facing away from a pinata, and swinging that same golf club and hitting the flimsy paper tail of the pinata. Plus, I get to work with my lovely Feng Shui deck, which I don't do nearly often enough (mostly because it's boring and a bit neurosis-inducing to keep reading for myself all the time).

The sixth of every lunar month is a sacred day to Artemis. However, Thista Minai's book about Artemisian festivals does not list a specific festival on that date for November, so I am trying to decide what to do for Thursday. I think I might spend time in the DePaul library raiding their section of Greek mythology and ancient Greek religion, and then if the weather is nice (which it looks to be!), maybe do some walking around Chicago. Probably work in some tarot and the usual offerings, too.

I can has performance slot at Borders yay!
Out of the dates available, I requested December 5th, and I'll be there from 8pm-10pm, which...is...wow, kind of a long time. It's good that I've got a December date, though, because this means 1) NaNo will be over and 2) I'll have time to polish up a couple of pieces for my measly little repertoire.

I can see the pieces are laid out in front of me
