#23 - From the files of ART106...

An incomplete sketch of a still life. I didn't get to finish it 'cause...yeah, spent a lot of time fussing over shadows and stuff. XD Plus, the details on the one bottle on the far right were ready to kill meh.




A sketch of a vase of water. lol lopsided vase of mine. It's partly because I was drawing on an angle, and partly because I can't draw things symmetrically without Photoshop to save my life.




I've really surprised myself in ART106 thus far. I almost never do observational drawings, and I don't use traditional media all that much, but these have turned out surprisingly decent. Now I want to experiment more with charcoal...though I don't know what I'd want to draw with it. Still, there's something creatively romantic about walking away from a drawing with blackened fingers. It's like the time I was working on aerithzstrife's oil painting and I had colors all over my fingers and arms. I love working in Photoshop and don't plan on stopping anytime soon, but I also feel at home getting into the mess of things. Kinda makes me feel like I've "earned" the title of artist. Now where are my stat bonuses, bitch?

Got myself a lime green 4GB iPod. Have named it Saria after the green-haired sage from Ocarina of Time, and am very amused by it.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Whenever I spend a long time working on a picture, I always have silver black fingers, hand, and a spot along my arm XD I always say that whenever you have more of the work on you that on the canvas, it's the mark of a true artist ^__^
