I love names. What's in a name? Everything. Except the kitchen sink.
With that totally nonsensical opening quasi-paragraph, here's a site collecting the Worst Baby Names Ever. There's a fair amount to look at, so I'm just going to link you to this page, which collects truly atrocious baby names sent into the webmistress of the site by one of her readers. The reason I'm highlighting this particular page is because it was the first page where I literally, out loud, went "What? What? What?!" every few seconds.
Look, I love odd, quirky, and unusual names like any other onomaphile out there (is there a word meaning "lover of names"? There's gotta be), but when you've got things like Kapsidee Faith, Ink Brinley, Pstephen (for fuck's sake, people!), Brecklyn (....), and - my personal favorite, for certain definitions of "favorite" - Dayzunique Tylettrell Deiondrianiece, there's something wrong here.
Although I did come across Aubriana Kai in one of the earlier pages, which I like. A quick Google search isn't turning up any unsavory associations, and it looks like Aubriana is a variation of Aubrey. Maybe I'll work this into NaNo somehow.
